- Manage and strategically develop supplier relationships to ensure long-term supply and competitiveness.
- Conduct and oversee annual discussions, supplier visits, and negotiations to optimize purchasing conditions and supplier relationships.
- Maintain and update purchasing data in SAP, proactively tracking delivery dates and material flows.
- Lead the implementation and management of technical projects in purchasing, ensuring adherence to cost, time, and quality objectives.
- Continuously optimize purchasing processes and supplier collaboration, initiating and implementing improvement measures to enhance efficiency and reduce risks.
- Proactively identify and drive innovations in purchasing and supply chain to maintain competitiveness and leverage new market opportunities.
- Analyze and assess supply chain risks, developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Mentor and support junior buyers and interns through professional guidance and mentoring.
- Completed technical or commercial degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in purchasing, preferably with experience in direct materials and in a manufacturing company.
- Strong technical understanding and ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Proficient in SAP and experienced with MS Office.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in independently managing purchasing projects and continuously developing processes to ensure efficient and future-oriented procurement.
- Knowledge of handling drawing authorizations (up to 100,000 EUR within the four-eyes principle) and compliance with company guidelines and compliance requirements.
- Ability to closely collaborate with internal departments such as demand planning, distribution, and production to ensure optimal material supply and a smooth supply chain, as well as coordination with team leaders on strategic decisions and larger purchasing projects.
