- Develop and maintain tax plans, compliance procedures, and risk assessment frameworks to ensure effective tax management.
- Manage and oversee the filing of regular tax returns, including income tax, VAT, GST, and other direct or indirect taxes.
- Collaborate with local finance and RCOE teams to ensure accurate implementation of tax strategies and policies in compliance with national regulations.
- Ensure various reconciliations and MIS presentations to management and monitor records for taxation and payments.
- Handle internal and external audits and communicate effectively with vendors to bridge gaps in reconciliation differences.
- Represent the company before tax authorities during audits, assessments, and litigations to defend claims made in returns.
- Finalize replies, appeals, and represent before Appellate Authorities including Commissioner (Appeals) and Tribunal (Appeals).
- Liaise with auditors, consultants, and counsels for effective representation and appeals.
- Partner with business units to support initiatives by advising on tax implications for optimized and tax-efficient solutions.
- Provide regular updates to the business on tax matters and the potential impact of new or changed laws and regulations on compliance.
- Ensure systems and processes are implemented or amended to meet new tax requirements.
- Conduct route-to-market analysis and assist the business with additional registrations and responsibilities.
- Support annual statutory audits, internal audits, and other audits.
- Perform yearly deferred tax and advance tax computations and year-end book provisions.
- Postgraduate degree with a major in Business or Finance (Chartered Accountant).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in SAP financial accounting.
- Familiarity with sales and commercial functions including primary and secondary sales, trade stock, and pricing.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good interpersonal relationship skills.
- Adaptability in communication with different management levels and cross-functional interactions.
- Problem-solving attitude.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage tasks from start to finish with minimal intervention.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
- Cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Effective time management.
6-10 years of relevant work experience in multinational companies, with a solid background in collaborating with commercial teams.
Postgraduate degree with a major in Business or Finance (Chartered Accountant).
