Head of Fundraising
The Michelangelo Foundation is dedicated to promoting and perpetuating the work of artisans who devote their lives to creativity and human savoir-faire. - Design, implement, and monitor a comprehensive fundraising strategy and multi-year plan.
- Develop strategic relationships within the philanthropy and business communities.
- Cultivate and strengthen existing donor relationships and manage donor accounts.
- Develop a gift acceptance policy and due diligence process.
- Research and develop a portfolio of potential donors.
- Work with the Executive Team and Board to leverage networks for new contacts and funders.
- Ensure consistency of messaging in all fundraising communications.
- Achieve defined KPIs and forecast revenue and expenses.
- Develop systems for donor tracking and gift processing.
- Manage internal approval processes for fundraising proposals.
- Manage one Fundraising Assistant.
- Master’s degree in business, marketing, or communication.
- In-depth knowledge of the philanthropy environment and techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of luxury and fine crafts related business.
- Strong written, verbal, and digital communication skills.
- Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
- Self-motivation and capability to work independently.
- Team player with the ability to build good working relationships.
- Innovative and strategic thinker.
- Fluency in French and English; Italian is a plus.
- Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally.
12+ years of management experience with a record of fundraising success securing high-value gifts. Proven record of building and implementing strategic programs in a senior leadership role. Experience in line-managing a successful fundraising team, reporting, budgeting, and using donor relationship management tools.
