Louis Vuitton Metal Components Developer and Sourcing Specialist

- Conduct material sourcing for creative teams from suppliers to provide rapid, industrial solutions that meet stylistic desires.
- Promote re-use, circular creativity, and eco-friendly materials.
- Manage the budget proactively.
- Maintain a continuous watch on material innovations in the market and share supplier innovations with stylists.
- Develop network and knowledge through visits to competitors, suppliers, and specialized trade shows.
- Organize and manage orders and supply of materials necessary for product prototyping, ensuring timely delivery and meeting requirements.
- Create new materials in the database to ensure smooth operation with the material room and project development.
- Monitor budget by tracking and updating orders in PLM.
- Coordinate sourcing activities between Style and Suppliers during the creation phase.
- Communicate critical elements to the project team for risk analysis.
- Ensure alignment of material strategy to meet project requirements.
- Engage style and marketing interlocutors to ensure a collection construction coherent with the allocated budget.
- Execute technical development with suppliers.
- Formalize needs: master design / write specifications considering the use on the finished product.
- Analyze technical risks of projects and take actions to mitigate them.
- Define, refine, and validate material design with suppliers.
- Determine and validate acceptance criteria, production, and control processes.
- Validate material quality and usage: analyze laboratory performances, assess aesthetic conformity, test and confirm material workability in workshops.
- Contribute to resolving incidents with suppliers and workshops during production phase.
- Support suppliers in resolving industrialization and production startup issues to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
- Propose and implement improvements in material and finished product development processes (within LV team and with suppliers).
- Guide workshops in optimizing material exploitation.
- Develop material and process innovations with suppliers.
- Provide technical support to the Material Pole teams regarding strategic challenges (supply source security, cost optimization, quality improvements, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful experience in similar roles involving interaction with creative and industrial teams.
- Strong material sourcing and development expertise.
- Excellent project management and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial management.
- Ability to analyze and mitigate technical risks.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of eco-friendly and innovative materials.
Minimum of 3 years in a similar role, preferably within the luxury fashion industry, involving collaboration with creative and industrial teams.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
