Loro Piana Junior Knitwear Designer

- Collaborate in material research, focusing on fibers, yarns, and colors, in partnership with internal and external manufacturers.
- Contribute to technical research involving stitches, techniques, patterns, and embellishments, working closely with the Knitwear Product and Technical teams.
- Participate in comprehensive iconographic, vintage, and product research to develop collection concepts aligned with company design and product directions.
- Assist in the creation of team communication tools, including boards, digital files, and presentation documents.
- Organize and set up knitwear meetings and presentations in collaboration with coordination teams and various departments.
- Attend studio photo-shoots to support design, merchandising, and visual teams.
- Participate in the development of bi-annual design hand-sketches with the knit design team.
- Collaborate on pattern and texture designs using hand-machines or digital tools for production.
- Contribute to the design of technical digital sketches for all knitwear collections for sales campaigns.
- Support collection development within company timeframes, working closely with the knitwear product and technical teams.
- Prepare technical specifications for each style to convey precise design directions.
- Attend fittings with design and product teams to achieve intended objectives during proto-phase, edit-phase, and sample-phase.
- Update team communication tools to track collection progress.
- Contribute to weekly knitwear update exchanges with involved teams.
- Participate in seasonal archival work.
- Master’s degree in Knitwear Design, with a focus on women's and/or men's fashion.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a knitwear designer role within a fashion house.
- High sensitivity and curiosity for Loro Piana products and materials.
- Confirmed team player with strong organizational skills and an open-minded attitude.
- Fluency in Italian, both spoken and written; English proficiency is advantageous.
- Strong IT design skills in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Professional mastery of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Interest in learning new methods, techniques, and design areas.
- Flexibility and adaptability to new contexts.
Minimum of 3 years in a knitwear designer position within a fashion house.
Master’s degree in Knitwear Design.
