- Collaborate in material research, focusing on fibers, yarns, and colors, working closely with internal and external manufacturers and the Knit Material team.
- Contribute to technical research involving stitches, techniques, patterns, and embellishments, in daily collaboration with the Knitwear Product and Technical team.
- Participate in collective iconographic, vintage, and product research to develop collection concepts in alignment with company design and product directions.
- Assist in the creation of team communication tools, including boards, digital files, and presentations using InDesign and PowerPoint.
- Organize and set up knitwear meetings and presentations in collaboration with coordination teams and relevant departments.
- Attend studio photo-shoots to support design, merchandising, and visual teams.
- Participate in bi-annual design hand-sketch developments with the Knit Design Team.
- Collaborate on various pattern and texture designs, utilizing hand-machines in the studio or digital tools for precise factory production.
- Contribute to designing technical digital sketches for all knitwear collections for sales campaigns.
- Support collection development within company timeframes, collaborating with knitwear product and technical teams and exchanging insights with the Knit Material team.
- Prepare technical specifications for each style to clearly convey design directions and requirements.
- Attend fittings with design and product teams to ensure accurate objectives are met during proto-phase, edit-phase, and sample-phase.
- Update team communication tools to track daily collection progress.
- Contribute to weekly knitwear updates with involved knit teams.
- Participate in seasonal archival work.
- Master’s degree in Knitwear Design, with a focus on Women's and/or Men's fashion.
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a previous knitwear designer role within a fashion house.
- High sensitivity and curiosity for Loro Piana products and materials.
- Confirmed team player with strong organizational skills and an open-minded attitude.
- Interest in learning new methods, techniques, and design areas, with flexibility and adaptability to new contexts.
- Fluency in Italian, both spoken and written; English proficiency is considered a plus.
- Strong IT design skills in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Professional mastery of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
A minimum of 3 years in a knitwear designer position within a fashion house is required.
Master’s degree in Knitwear Design.
