- Prepare and assemble full‑scale handbag prototypes at the workbench, working autonomously with fine leathers and complex constructions.
- Read and interpret paper patterns independently, translating technical drawings into accurate physical samples.
- Operate and maintain preparation machinery used in prototyping (skiving, splitting, spray/adhesive application) to ensure repeatable quality.
- Collaborate closely with Prototyping/Patternmaking & Samples, Industrialization, Production, Product Office and Consumptions Office to support sample development and handover to production.
- Ensure materials and workmanship meet the maison’s standards; perform quality checks and correct deviations during the prototyping phase.
- Transmit technical knowledge and mentor younger colleagues and apprentices; contribute to skills development within the unit.
- Document prototype specifications and feed technical feedback into industrialization and production processes.
- Minimum ten years’ hands‑on experience in handbag prototyping within leather goods manufacturing.
- Demonstrable expertise with a wide range of leathers (fine and standard) and leather‑specific production processes.
- Proven ability to read and interpret patterns and to convert them into precise, manufacturable samples.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience in training or mentoring junior makers.
- Meticulous attention to detail, high sense of responsibility and commitment to craft quality.

At least 10 years of progressive, practical experience as a prototypist for handbags within a leather goods or luxury accessories production environment.
Vocational qualification or apprenticeship in leather goods, fashion technology, or an equivalent hands‑on training background.
