1. Stay informed on trade regulations, customs laws, and import/export requirements in the US and Canada.
2. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
3. Manage and maintain accurate records of import and export transactions.
4. Prepare and review shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
5. Interface with government agencies such as U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Canada Border Services Agency.
6. Facilitate communication and compliance with agencies like FDA and EPA.
7. Conduct risk assessments related to trade compliance and develop mitigation strategies.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and enhance compliance procedures.
9. Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure adherence to trade compliance policies.
10. Provide training and guidance to employees on trade compliance matters.
11. Analyze data to draw strategic conclusions for corrective action.

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, International Relations, or a related field
2. Minimum of 3-5 years in trade compliance, with a focus on US & Canada
3. Customs Broker’s License

1. In-depth knowledge of US and Canadian Import/Export regulations
2. Strong understanding of customs procedures and documentation requirements
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
5. Familiarity with trade management software and systems
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

A minimum of 3-5 years in trade compliance, preferably with a focus on both the US and Canada, is required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, International Relations, or a related field.

$85,000 - $95,000 per year plus incentives.
