1. Ensure compliance with personal property tax regulations for over 250 retail locations.
2. Gather data and identify taxable assets for accurate preparation and filing of property tax renditions.
3. Analyze property tax assessments and appeal assessments to ensure proper valuation of taxable assets.
4. Assist with property tax audits, including data gathering, analysis, reconciliation, and negotiations with tax authorities.
5. Maintain proficiency in state and local tax laws using tax research software.
6. Conduct special projects and research complex tax issues as required.
7. Support other areas of indirect tax compliance, including sales/use tax and business licenses.

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years of relevant indirect tax or accounting experience, preferably in a retail environment.
3. Proficiency in Vertex O Series, Vertex Returns, Avalara, and ERP software such as Oracle or SAP.
4. Experience researching state and local tax laws using tools like CCH, TTR, BNA, or Checkpoint.

1. Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
2. Experience with database tools such as Alteryx is advantageous.
3. Excellent judgment and critical thinking skills.
4. Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
5. Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally.

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in indirect tax or accounting, preferably within a retail environment.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
