Hermès Laboratory Technician
Hermès Manufacture de Métaux is the Hermès Group entity dedicated to the manufacture of high‑quality metal fittings, jewellery components and ornamental metalware. The division brings specialised technical and manual expertise in machining, polishing, surface treatment and precision assembly across multiple European production sites to support Hermès collections in leather goods, accessories and jewellery.
- Plan and coordinate incoming test requests: receive samples, log specimens, request missing information and resolve anomalies with internal stakeholders.
- Prepare, conduct and document physical, climatic and chemical laboratory tests, including salt‑spray, artificial sweat, heat/humidity cycling, tensile and compression testing, and spectrometric analyses.
- Analyse test data and produce conclusive end‑of‑test reports with expert commentary and recommended next steps.
- Maintain laboratory quality and safety standards through routine cleaning, inventory control, consumables management and proper handling/disposal of waste.
- Collaborate with engineers, production and R&D teams to support problem‑solving, non‑conformance investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Post‑secondary diploma (Bac+2 or Bac+3) in metallurgy, chemistry, materials science or physical measurement.
- Familiarity with laboratory test methods relevant to metals and surface finishes (climatic, mechanical and chemical testing).
- Strong attention to detail, analytical rigour and the ability to interpret test results objectively.
- Good teamwork, curiosity and resourcefulness in a production‑oriented laboratory environment.

Entry level — beginners accepted; ideally one prior placement or practical experience in a laboratory environment, preferably with materials or metallurgy testing.
Bac+2 or Bac+3 (DUT/BTS or equivalent) in metallurgy, chemistry, materials science or physical measurement.
