Hermès Assistant Designer (Intern)

- Support the Petit h creative studio in the end‑to‑end development of new objects, reporting to the two lead designers.
- Produce technical 2D plans for suppliers from designers' 3D models (Rhinoceros 3D) and prepare digital cutting files for bespoke pieces.
- Digitally trace and refine hand sketches into vector files using Rhino or Adobe Illustrator; update and modify 3D files as projects evolve.
- Contribute to CAD/CAO modelling on validated prototypes and perform scaling/adaptations for product variants (2D and 3D).
- Execute rapid prototyping: build quick maquettes, assist the artisan developer with structural modifications and tidy up presentation models.
- Research and source components and materials from the material library; propose suitable metallics, fittings and finishes for new projects.
- Conduct inspirational and iconographic research tied to creative themes and contribute to colour/material range selection with the freelance colourist.
- Create rendered simulations of material and colour combinations to support validation and projection decisions.
- Maintain studio organisation: restock materials, archive tests/prototypes/croquis and update tracking files (photos, dimensions) for incoming materials and parts.
- Current enrolment in a higher education Design programme or equivalent (design school student).
- Proven proficiency with Rhinoceros 3D for modelling and modification of 3D files.
- Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite—Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop—and comfortable with Microsoft Office tools.
- Demonstrable curiosity, organisational rigour and attention to detail with an ability to take initiative on assigned tasks.
- Product sensibility combining ingenuity and pragmatism, and well‑developed interpersonal skills for cross‑disciplinary collaboration.
