Gucci Merchandising Director

- Implement the global buying strategy at a regional level, tailored to market specifics and priorities.
- Participate in regional fashion presentations and product buying processes.
- Manage the buying of collections for Mexico, Panama, and Aruba, presenting strategies to the worldwide merchandise team.
- Monitor sales and stock to optimize the balance between assortment and stock, maximizing sales growth.
- Collaborate with store directors to enhance sales and results by store.
- Coordinate with regional functions on launches, store openings, renovations, and events.
- Work with the local Inventory Planning and Operations team for product replenishment and allocation.
- Partner with other merchandising team members to develop and execute merchandise assortment and buying plans.
- Conduct inventory management to achieve growth across classifications and price ranges.
- Analyze selling trends and execute proactive consolidations to ensure profitability.
- Monitor business categories to identify priorities and opportunities.
- Initiate strategies to optimize stock and boost sales based on sales and sell-through analysis.
- Review competitor activity and pricing to optimize positioning on key products.
- Conduct regular store visits to assess product information, assortments, and buying strategies.
- Collaborate with visual merchandising and retail teams to address space allocation and product presentation.
- Conduct sales plan reviews with regional and worldwide planning teams.
- Evaluate sales potential by event/store to inform open-to-buy opportunities.
- Provide strategic input for visual merchandising to impact business positively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Business, Finance, or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant buying experience in fashion and/or luxury environments.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Work authorization in Mexico.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.
- Ability to work a demanding schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
A minimum of 6-8 years of relevant buying experience within the fashion and/or luxury sector.
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Business, Finance, or related discipline desired.
