Fendi Raw Material Industrialization & Quality Control Supervisor — Leather Goods

- Lead all activities related to industrialization and quality control of leather materials, ensuring alignment with aesthetic, performance, cost and sustainability objectives.
- Act as the technical liaison between design, strategic sourcing, product development, cutting and assembly teams to guarantee manufacturability and industrial suitability of materials.
- Conduct in-depth feasibility assessments during early design reviews to identify technical constraints, production implications and optimisation opportunities.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to define testing protocols, verify compliance with company quality parameters and manage raw material testing activities.
- Define and document comprehensive material characteristics, performance specifications and quality standards to support sourcing and purchasing decisions.
- Manage, schedule and supervise the CQ team, coordinating the work of three Raw Materials Inspectors and overseeing day-to-day operational activities.
- Use the Modelform database to record and maintain material data sheets and technical documentation shared with suppliers.
- Contribute to countertype sourcing decisions with purchasing and product development according to technical specifications and industrial needs.
- Work with model makers, product engineers and production stakeholders to optimise material usage, reduce waste and streamline production processes.
- Develop and implement standardised processes for material industrialization to improve efficiency and shorten lead times.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Proven expertise in the industrialization of plain and exotic leathers, with strong knowledge of tanning and leather production processes.
- Demonstrated ability to translate creative specifications into manufacturable technical solutions, balancing aesthetics, cost and sustainability.
- Proven supervisory experience, including scheduling and operational management of a small technical team.
- Fluency in Italian and good command of English for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Proficient user of MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) and experience with materials databases (Modelform).

8–10 years of relevant experience in the fashion industry or within tanneries, with a proven track record in leather industrialization; at least 5 years in roles involving technical responsibility or team supervision.
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equivalent technical/ scientific qualification.
