- Research and identify new trim and accessory options, staying current with market trends and innovations.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive trim library, including material specifications, pricing, and supplier information.
- Collaborate with designers to understand trim needs and provide technical guidance on material selection and construction.
- Ensure trims meet performance and durability requirements by working closely with product development teams.
- Source trims from approved suppliers, negotiating pricing and lead times to meet project goals.
- Manage trim samples and approvals, ensuring quality standards and consistency across production runs.
- Troubleshoot trim-related issues during development or production processes.
- Maintain accurate records of trim usage and costs.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and standards, including safety and environmental requirements.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide updates on trim development progress.
- Extensive experience in trim development, with a minimum of 5-7 years required.
- Experience working at a global trim supplier or brand is highly desired.
- Strong knowledge of textile trims, hard trims, and trim physical properties and performance testing.
- Excellent technical knowledge of zip componentry.
- Ability to foresee potential issues and offer innovative solutions.
- Outstanding attention to detail and superb organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and data management systems such as CENTRIC PLM.
- Collaborative and team-oriented.
- Ability to cope with change in a fast-paced environment.
- Negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of essential languages: Italian, French, English.
Minimum of 5 years in trim development, preferably within a global supplier or brand.
