- Ensure accurate and efficient processing of all shipping and receiving functions affecting store inventory.
- Maintain an orderly and neat stock and receiving area, ensuring merchandise is properly ticketed and sensored.
- Process all inbound freight, returns-to-vendors (RTVs), chargebacks, transfers, and damages in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Support compliance with established company policies and standards, including safekeeping of company funds and property, personnel practices, security, and record-keeping procedures.
- Ensure stock is appropriately security tagged to prevent loss.
- Communicate with central distribution and/or the corporate inventory control department.
- Participate in all inventory and cycle counts.
- Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping.
- Complete price changes within the boutique as necessary.
- Assist in packing or wrapping customers’ merchandise when needed.
- Contribute to solving problems and making informed suggestions that enhance the service and productivity of the receiving area.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Participate in store meetings and training seminars as necessary.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by management.
- Previous retail stock, shipping, or receiving experience.
- Ability to handle receiving operations effectively, including proper handling of merchandise.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
- Proficiency in processing information and merchandise through computer systems.
- Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
- Competence in operating all necessary equipment, including phone systems, inventory-control computer systems, and sensor-tag removers.
- Flexibility to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store.
Beginner level experience in retail stock, shipping, or receiving is required.
