- Analyze and interpret technical sheets, patterns, and model drawings to understand cutting requirements.
- Optimize pattern placement on raw materials, considering fabric constraints and material yield.
- Execute precise manual and/or machine cutting of garment pieces using cutting scissors, cutters, or automated cutting machines.
- Verify the conformity of cut pieces against patterns and technical specifications, ensuring dimensions, shape, and cut cleanliness.
- Sort, label, and package cut pieces to facilitate their transfer to the sewing stages.
- Maintain cutting tools and equipment, sharpening blades, cleaning machines, and reporting anomalies to the workshop manager.
- Apply safety and hygiene standards in the workshop.
- Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in a similar role, ideally in Haute Couture or luxury Ready-to-Wear.
- Mastery of manual and machine cutting techniques (flat cut, bias cut, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret garment patterns, including size gradations.
- Expertise in the properties of various fabric types (natural, synthetic, knit) and their cutting behavior.
- Attention to detail and precision in task execution, with a focus on quality.
- Organizational skills to manage work efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Teamwork skills to collaborate with other workshop members (prototypists, seamstresses, etc.).
Minimum 5 years in a similar position, preferably in Haute Couture or luxury Ready-to-Wear.
