Chanel Sustainability Project Engineer Intern — Perfumes & Beauty

1. Support lifecycle assessments (LCA) and environmental impact studies for perfume and beauty product portfolios.
2. Collect, validate and analyse environmental and material data from internal R&D teams and external suppliers.
3. Contribute to eco‑design and packaging optimisation projects, applying sustainability criteria to design and material choices.
4. Prepare technical reports, data visualisations and presentations for cross‑functional stakeholders (R&D, Sourcing, Regulatory, Packaging).
5. Coordinate supplier questionnaires and audits concerning environmental performance and compliance.
6. Track regulatory and voluntary sustainability standards relevant to cosmetics and fragrance (packaging, ingredients, waste, emissions).
7. Assist in the development of KPIs and dashboards to monitor product environmental performance and reduction targets.

1. Current enrolment in an engineering or master’s programme in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, sustainable development or equivalent.
2. Strong analytical aptitude with experience in quantitative environmental assessment methods.
3. Excellent communication skills and ability to synthesise technical data into clear reports for multi‑disciplinary teams.
4. Autonomy, organisation and ability to manage multiple workstreams under supervision.
5. Interest in cosmetics, fragrance or consumer goods and familiarity with industry sustainability issues.

Previous internship or project experience in sustainability, environmental assessment, eco‑design or within the cosmetics/consumer goods sector is preferred but not mandatory. Experience handling supplier data and cross‑functional coordination is advantageous.

Enrolled in an engineering school or a university Master’s programme in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, sustainable development, or equivalent.
