Chanel Design Manager

- Lead all phases of design coordination, construction project management, procurement, and financial reporting for new projects and renovations related to Fragrance and Beauty, Watches and Fine Jewellery, and Chanel Corporate offices in Canada.
- Manage the design process, including local adaptation of drawings and concept renderings, and coordinate operational spaces.
- Hire and collaborate with local professionals to prepare comprehensive working drawing packages for permits, tenders, and construction.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate operational requirements into design.
- Prepare planning, budgeting, and forecasting for projects, reviewing with the CFO and President.
- Conduct site visits and collaborate with Chanel's Repair and Maintenance Manager to uphold brand image standards.
- Obtain design approvals and ensure high standards in detailing, specification, and project management.
- Manage the design of audio-visual, security, IT, lighting, and loss prevention systems.
- Negotiate with landlords and ensure compliance with brand standards and lease agreements.
- Select and manage general contractors, suppliers, and consultants, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Oversee shop fitters and installation, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Manage administrative and procurement tasks, including budgeting, invoicing, and product shipments.
- Support legal and leasing teams with store design and construction-related documents.
- Minimum of 10 years of retail store design experience on the client or agency side.
- Degree in Interior Design or Architecture or equivalent experience in luxury retail projects.
- Strong comprehension of architectural and engineering drawings.
- Confidence and practical understanding of construction sites.
- PMP designation or LEED accreditation is an asset.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Sketchup.
- Familiarity with Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Excel is an asset.
- Experience with COUPA is an asset.
A minimum of 10 years in retail store design, with a focus on luxury brands.
Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
