Alterations Specialist

1. Produce high-quality altered merchandise within established time frame standards
2. Provide excellent service and maintain customer relationships
3. Fit garments with clients and alter a wide range of garments
4. Organize and maintain client-owned pieces
5. Suggest styling and fitting advice to clients
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Chanel-specific alteration techniques
7. Ensure sewing machines and equipment are in proper working order
8. Build positive team relationships
9. Alter or repair garments, including hemming, mending, and adjusting seams
10. Fit garments on clients to determine necessary alterations
11. Construct garments according to client specifications
12. Label garments and record required alterations
13. Communicate with clients to determine specifications and preferences
14. Use irons and pressing machines to remove creases

1. Minimum 5 years of alterations experience in a luxury retail environment
2. Sound knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques
3. Ability to work under time constraints
4. Effective communication skills
5. Exceptional client service skills
6. Detail-oriented
7. Ability to lift 15 lb
8. Flexible schedule with availability for late nights, weekends, and holidays

1. Strong technical background in specialty skills such as leather, knits, double-face, beading, fine tailoring, buttonholes
2. Strong attention to detail
3. Service-minded
4. Team collaboration
5. Understanding of and passion for client experience
6. Excellent communication skills
7. Foreign language skills preferred

Minimum 5 years of alterations experience in a luxury retail environment is preferred.

Minimum High School Diploma

The anticipated base salary range is $27.30 through $40.00. Other forms of variable pay may include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
