1. Lead and manage the Record to Report (RTR) sub-function within the Finance department, ensuring alignment with Group policies and international standards.
2. Oversee the preparation and review of accounting transactions, balances, and reports for accuracy and completeness.
3. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all regulatory submissions, including indirect and direct tax reporting, in compliance with legal deadlines.
4. Manage tax and customs audits, collaborating with Group Tax and Tax Advisors to mitigate tax exposures.
5. Oversee the implementation of new local tax and RTR initiatives, ensuring adherence to Group accounting policies.
6. Manage internal stakeholders and change management programs to ensure ongoing successful service delivery.
7. Identify gaps in business processes and propose continuous improvement measures.

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
2. Qualified accountant or professional accounting qualification in Japan or equivalent.

1. Native-level proficiency in Japanese and business-level proficiency in English.
2. Strong technical background with experience in applying IFRS in a retail environment.
3. Proven leadership and management skills with a history of hiring, training, and retaining personnel.
4. Experience with SAP ERP systems and Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) tools.
5. In-depth knowledge of Japan GAAP and local compliance requirements.
6. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and shared services environments, specifically in the Record to Report area within multinational companies.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
