Burberry Senior Accounting Manager

- Lead and manage the Record to Report (RTR) sub-function within the Finance department, ensuring alignment with Group policies and international standards.
- Oversee the preparation and review of accounting transactions, balances, and reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all regulatory submissions, including indirect and direct tax reporting, in compliance with legal deadlines.
- Manage tax and customs audits, collaborating with Group Tax and Tax Advisors to mitigate tax exposures.
- Oversee the implementation of new local tax and RTR initiatives, ensuring adherence to Group accounting policies.
- Manage internal stakeholders and change management programs to ensure ongoing successful service delivery.
- Identify gaps in business processes and propose continuous improvement measures.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- Qualified accountant or professional accounting qualification in Japan or equivalent.
- Native-level proficiency in Japanese and business-level proficiency in English.
- Strong technical background with experience in applying IFRS in a retail environment.
- Proven leadership and management skills with a history of hiring, training, and retaining personnel.
- Experience with SAP ERP systems and Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) tools.
- In-depth knowledge of Japan GAAP and local compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and shared services environments, specifically in the Record to Report area within multinational companies.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
