Balenciaga Sustainable Materials Research Assistant Intern

- Conduct research on sustainable concepts, materials, and processes for Accessories and RTW departments.
- Ensure alignment of research and sourcing with sustainability, quality, and performance requirements, creative briefs, and seasonal timelines.
- Collaborate with operations teams and suppliers to develop sustainable materials and techniques.
- Support with mechanical, chemical, and analytical expertise of materials.
- Contribute to the application of eco-conception practices in design and development teams.
- Maintain a continuous intelligence watch on sustainable materials, processes, and technology innovations.
- Provide regular progress reports and data analysis to key stakeholders.
- Maintain the internal Materials and Innovations Database.
- Strong awareness of sustainability concepts and impacts in the fashion industry.
- Knowledge of Life Cycle Analysis is beneficial.
- Previous internship experience in sustainability, preferably in a consulting firm or company.
- Experience in material and process development is appreciated.
- Pursuing an Engineering or Master’s degree in sustainable materials, materials science, or chemical science.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Fluent in French and English; Italian is a plus.
- Strong networking and relational skills.
- High autonomy and team spirit.
- Curiosity and openness to innovation.
Previous internship experience with a focus on sustainability, preferably within a consulting firm or company.
Pursuing an Engineering or Master’s degree in sustainable materials, materials science, or chemical science.
