Zenith, La Chaux de Fonds – Precision Finishing Technician for watchmaking component finishing.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute technical finishing operations including blasting (semi-automatic and manual machines), barrel finishing, and component washing (automatic machines)
- Perform heat treatment operations (annealing and tempering) and thickness calibration of component blanks
- Conduct polishing, matting, and smoothing operations (automatic and manual machines) with mastery of specialized abrasive media (diamond, bark, stones, shells)
- Develop, document, and implement technical procedures and processes
- Contribute specialized expertise in watchmaking polishing techniques to continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain equipment in optimal working condition through regular cleaning and replacement of baths and chemical solutions
- Manage inventory of products and consumables
Qualifications
- Confirmed experience in finishing watchmaking components or precision micro-mechanics (minimum 5 years)
- In-depth knowledge of watchmaking polishing techniques and abrasive media applications
- Ability to follow, document, and implement technical procedures
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving orientation
Skills
Experience
Minimum 5 years of confirmed experience in finishing watchmaking components or precision micro-mechanics, with demonstrated expertise in horological polishing techniques.
Education
Technical training in precision mechanics, watchmaking, or equivalent practical qualification preferred; formal technical qualifications or apprenticeship completion in horology or micro-mechanics.
