Zenith Head of Sales — Tokyo: lead wholesale & retail operations, inventory allocation and team development for the luxury watch maison.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the medium- to long-term sales strategy across wholesale and retail channels, including boutique openings, relocations, renovations and closures.
  • Set annual sales targets and budgets; monitor financial and marketing KPIs and control sales expenses and capital spending within approved limits.
  • Develop and manage wholesale relationships: negotiate retail space, commission and franchise agreements; expand market share through strategic partnerships.
  • Lead retail operations to ensure boutique standards in client service, clienteling and maintenance; implement central policies and operational procedures consistently.
  • Conduct inventory analysis and optimize product allocation across channels in coordination with HQ product, supply chain and local logistics teams.
  • Recruit, coach and develop local teams with HR to drive performance, succession planning and a client-centric, entrepreneurial culture.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities (Marketing, Customer Service & Logistics, HR, IT, Internal Audit, Compliance) to ensure operational alignment and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of commercial experience with demonstrable success in wholesale and retail environments, preferably within luxury goods or related premium categories.
  • Proven track record in sales operations, inventory allocation and budget management.
  • Experience negotiating commercial agreements with retailers and managing distributor/retailer networks.
  • University degree in Marketing, Economics, Business, Finance or Statistics; international experience preferred.
  • Business-level Japanese and business-level English (TOEIC 800+ preferred).
