Zenith seeks CNC Setup Technician in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. 5+ years experience, Heidenhain/Fanuc expertise required.
Role & Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing orders and technical specifications to determine optimal setup requirements
- Select, install, and configure tooling and dies on CNC machines with precision
- Perform detailed calibrations of machine parameters including speed, pressure, temperature, and positioning
- Produce test pieces and verify conformity before authorizing full production runs
- Monitor production workflow in real time and intervene immediately to resolve anomalies or equipment malfunctions
- Optimize production rates while meeting established performance targets and delivery schedules
- Conduct first-level maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure operational continuity
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization projects
- Maintain meticulous documentation of production logs and maintenance interventions
- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Formal training in precision mechanics or equivalent technical qualification
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience in a similar CNC setup or adjustment role
- Advanced proficiency in CNC control systems, preferably Heidenhain and/or Fanuc
- Expertise with precision measurement instruments including plug gauges, vertical and horizontal comparators, optical measuring machines (Vertex Microvue), and length measuring machines (Marcel Aubert)
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings and schematics
- Track record of maintaining consistent part conformity within tight tolerances

Experience
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in CNC setup, adjustment, or calibration roles within precision manufacturing or watchmaking environments. Proven expertise in configuring and optimizing CNC machinery to achieve strict dimensional tolerances and production efficiency targets.
Education
Vocational or technical training in precision mechanics, machining, or equivalent field, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of metalworking principles and CNC operation.
