Zenith — La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland: CNC Setter required to set up, launch and monitor precision watch component production.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Analyze manufacturing orders and technical specifications to prepare machine setups.
  • Select appropriate tooling and moulds and install, mount and dismantle equipment on CNC machines.
  • Perform precise machine adjustments (speed, pressure, temperature, positioning) to ensure dimensional and functional conformity of parts.
  • Produce test pieces and inspect them to validate settings before launching series production.
  • Monitor production runs, diagnose anomalies and intervene promptly to minimise downtime and scrap.
  • Optimise production cadences to meet yield and throughput targets.
  • Carry out first‑line maintenance on machines and equipment and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Complete and maintain production and intervention reporting documentation.

Qualifications

  • Vocational training in mechanics, precision mechanics or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Minimum five years' experience in CNC setting or precision machining, ideally within watchmaking or micro‑mechanics.
  • Proven mastery of machine adjustment techniques and production launch procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Familiarity with control and inspection instruments (jauge tampon; comparateur verticale et horizontal; coordinate/metrology machines).
  • Knowledge of Heidenhain or Fanuc CNC controls is a strong advantage.
  • Rigor, precision, autonomy and strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective team working and clear communication; respect for safety and operational procedures.
