Saint Laurent in Scandicci seeks a Leather Collection Operator to collect and inspect cut leather for its leather goods workshop.
Role & Responsibilities
- Collect cut leather pieces from blade-cutting machines and deliver them to the next production stage according to prescribed workflows and timing.
- Perform an initial quality check of cut leather against the companys quality standards and identify obvious defects for immediate segregation.
- Sort and organise cut leather into designated containers, ensuring correct labelling and orderliness to facilitate traceability.
- Support the cutter and broader production team by maintaining a continuous supply of sorted material and reporting production issues or material shortages.
- Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area in compliance with workplace safety and production protocols.
Qualifications
- Applicants eligible under Italian Law 68/99 (reserved hiring) — as indicated in the job posting.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or production environments is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrable ability to work effectively in a team and follow production instructions.
- Physical ability to handle, lift and manoeuvre leather hides and materials as required by the role.
