Saint Laurent seeks an Industrial Costing Analyst in Scandicci, Italy to manage leather goods costing and cost optimization across product development and manufacturing phases.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage cost estimates and budgets by specifying principal cost drivers and identifying cost-reduction opportunities in coordination with Product Development, Prototyping, and Pattern-Making departments
- Evaluate and estimate manufacturing costs in collaboration with Procurement, Materials Research, Consumption Analysis, and Time & Methods offices
- Analyze bill-of-materials (BOM) and manufacturing cycles to identify cost optimization opportunities
- Apply target costing, target pricing, and industrial process analysis methodologies
- Create and maintain reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to manufacturing costs, margins, and savings
- Verify the accuracy of cost variations resulting from product modifications and engineering changes
- Support technical teams and product development in assessing the cost impact of modifications through simulations during development, industrialization, and production phases
- Drive continuous cost containment and optimization initiatives across standard costing
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of prior experience in industrial costing or cost analysis roles
- Educational background in Economics or Management Engineering preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
- Strong capability in data analysis and report generation
- Thorough knowledge of leather goods manufacturing processes
- Excellent command of English; French language skills highly valued
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities
Skills
Experience
3 years of professional experience in industrial costing, cost analysis, or related manufacturing finance roles within luxury goods, leather goods, or comparable production environments. Demonstrated ability to work across multiple departments and manage complex costing projects from conception through delivery.
Education
Degree in Economics, Management Engineering, or closely related discipline; additional technical certifications in costing methodology or production engineering are advantageous.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Scandicci, Tuscany, Italy, with easy access to Florence.
Compensation
The base compensation for this position is EUR 31,000 per annum.
