The Footwear Designer joins Saint Laurent’s footwear studio in Paris to create and develop collections in line with the house’s style and image. The role spans trend research, sketches and color ranges, prototype development and validation, and material selection; candidates should have 5–7 years of relevant luxury footwear experience and submit a portfolio.
Role & Responsibilities
- Analyze the house’s style characteristics and seasonal and collection themes.
- Research trends.
- Create sketches based on the themes.
- Produce drawings using Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Develop color ranges.
- Support the presentation and explanation of sketches and technical launches for prototype production by manufacturers.
- Validate prototypes.
- Select materials and supplies.
- Contribute to the creative studio’s broader work alongside the design team.
Qualifications
- Training in fashion design at a fashion school.
- Experience developing sophisticated, elegant, modern footwear collections.
- Knowledge of footwear techniques, including structures and materials.
- Experience interacting with manufacturers.
- Technical drawing and sketching skills, working both by hand and with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills for internal and external interactions.
- Fluent English; Italian is preferred.
