Saint Laurent is hiring a Department Manager in Guangdong, China to lead sales, manage a boutique team and grow VIP client relationships.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and coach the department sales team to achieve assigned quantitative and qualitative targets; set daily, weekly and monthly objectives and conduct performance reviews.
- Drive customer recruitment, retention and VIP engagement through proactive sales activity, personalised service and follow-up.
- Implement and monitor action plans defined with HQ and the Store Director; report results and escalate merchandising or stock issues to Buying/Headquarters.
- Analyse sales reports and KPIs, manage stock rotation and ensure department inventory accuracy and display standards.
- Recruit, train and develop sales personnel; run briefings, one-to-ones and on-floor coaching to elevate product knowledge and selling techniques.
- Safeguard store compliance with company policies, loss-prevention procedures, legal and safety requirements and internal operational processes.
- Collaborate with other department managers and back-office operations to optimise warehouse logistics and product replenishment.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in luxury retail sales with a demonstrable client portfolio and VIP relationship management.
- Previous managerial experience with the ability to coach, provide constructive feedback and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong product and fashion sensitivity with solid knowledge of local market and competitive landscape.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced retail environment.
- High availability, responsiveness and a professional demeanour aligned with luxury brand standards.
