Saint Laurent seeks a Compensation & Benefits Manager in Tokyo to lead compensation strategy, HR data governance and employee relations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee accurate management and integrity of HR data, including company-wide salary, compensation and headcount records.
  • Lead analysis and planning of personnel costs and headcount to enable timely management decisions and budgeting.
  • Design, manage and continuously improve compensation structures, benefits programs and total rewards initiatives that ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Act as a labour-management expert to ensure HR processes comply with local regulations and to advise managers on employee relations and regulatory governance.
  • Partner with business leaders and People teams to provide high-quality advisory support on pay decisions, promotions, benchmarking and reward communications.
  • Drive HR operational efficiency by implementing and optimising digital tools, HRIS workflows and payroll-related processes.
  • Prepare management reports, dashboards and ad-hoc analyses to track compensation trends, turnover and cost drivers.
  • Support change projects and local roll-outs of global reward programs, ensuring alignment with regional needs and legal requirements.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in compensation & benefits or total rewards, with responsibility for pay structures, benefits administration and reward policies.
  • Strong knowledge of HR operations and payroll processes, with experience maintaining HR data integrity in an HRIS.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply labour regulations and to manage employee relations matters with sound judgement.
  • Advanced analytical skills, including experience with personnel cost modelling, benchmarking and producing executive-level reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and advisory capabilities; able to influence leaders and collaborate across HR and business functions.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism handling confidential compensation information.

Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or related field; advanced degree or certifications in HR/compensation preferred.
