Saint Laurent seeks a Canada Country Manager in Toronto to lead luxury retail operations, multi-store management, and sales strategy. CAD $200K–$220K plus benefits.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the VP of Retail, US & Canada in implementing regional strategies, sales plans, and budgets to achieve revenue targets and operational excellence
  • Establish and maintain Retail Excellence standards to deliver an impeccable customer experience across all Canadian locations
  • Ensure all stores are optimally staffed with talented professionals capable of delivering world-class luxury service
  • Coach and mentor Store Managers to cultivate exceptional client engagement and build meaningful, long-term customer relationships
  • Partner with Store Managers to actively manage Client Advisors through team selling training, real-time coaching, and performance optimization
  • Analyze business trends and develop comprehensive weekly and monthly sales plans to achieve sales associate targets and collection sell-through objectives
  • Develop, implement, and manage customer outreach and clientele engagement programs to drive associate productivity and revenue growth
  • Monitor competitive activities, maintain industry relationships, and identify strategic opportunities to accelerate business expansion in the Canadian market
  • Oversee individual sales performance by empowering store managers to conduct regular one-on-one discussions, ensuring consistent coaching and performance-driven outcomes
  • Collaborate with corporate and retail stakeholders to align strategic objectives, optimize operations, and drive sustained business performance
  • Uphold and enforce Saint Laurent standards across all operational areas including visual merchandising, maintenance, grooming, inventory, and stock management
  • Develop and implement efficient import/export strategies to ensure timely merchandise delivery and receipt
  • Monitor and manage customs and trade compliance regulations to minimize delays and penalties
  • Collaborate with international suppliers and logistics partners to optimize shipping routes, costs, and delivery timelines
  • Ensure full compliance with Canadian import/export laws, tariff classifications, and duty calculation requirements
  • Implement inventory management strategies to maintain optimal stock levels across all Canadian locations
  • Monitor inventory turnover rates and proactively minimize overstock and stockout situations
  • Forecast demand and plan inventory orders to align with regional sales projections
  • Assess associate personnel needs on a continuous basis and actively recruit top talent at all levels in partnership with HR
  • Manage ongoing training programs for the sales team to strengthen product knowledge and operational systems competency
  • Identify and mentor future leaders, creating development action plans to enhance skill sets and expand job responsibilities
  • Assess associate performance and provide ongoing feedback through one-on-ones, developmental plans, and formal performance appraisals
  • Foster a fair and dignified workplace environment in partnership with Store Managers where all associates are treated with respect

Qualifications

  • 10–12 years of relevant experience in luxury fashion or premium retail
  • Demonstrated multi-store management experience
  • Proven ability to lead teams that exceed sales targets while maintaining disciplined payroll budgets
  • Strong talent identification, team-building, and leadership capabilities with a track record of developing and retaining top retail professionals
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to identify challenges and execute timely solutions
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and lead through influence and personal example
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results both independently and collaboratively, fostering teamwork and cooperation
  • Physical capability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods and to lift and mobilize medium-to-large items up to 30 lbs

Experience

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from CAD 200,000 to CAD 220,000 per annum.
