Saint Laurent seeks an Assistant Visual Merchandising Manager in Shanghai to lead visual standards across North China. Luxury retail experience required.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall visual merchandising in-season process and conduct regular store visits to ensure consistent excellence of visual presentation standards and VM strategy rollout
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards in line with headquarters direction and brand image requirements
  • Provide recommendations based on business performance and sales trends to support store targets while upholding brand standards
  • Oversee design, layout, and display strategy for special projects including store openings, pop-up installations, and trunk shows in coordination with cross-functional departments and headquarters
  • Support seasonal lightbox installations and provide image reports to headquarters
  • Coach and develop in-store visual merchandising teams in Beijing
  • Deliver visual merchandising training to North China VM ambassadors and ensure understanding of latest headquarters direction
  • Manage relationships with key cross-functional partners including merchandising, store planning, and retail operations
  • Manage relationships with local and overseas suppliers

Qualifications

  • Fashion or Business School degree
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in visual merchandising, preferably in luxury fashion retail
  • Strong understanding of retail industry trends and ability to analyze market data
  • Sophisticated sense of high-end fashion and retail aesthetics
  • Fluent spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Willingness to travel frequently within North China Region
