Watchfinder is hiring a Watchmaker in West Malling (Kent, UK) to service and repair luxury mechanical watches in its specialist workshop.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform complete servicing, overhaul and repair of mechanical and quartz wristwatches to manufacturer-standard tolerances.
- Diagnose faults, dismantle movements, clean parts, replace worn components, lubricate, reassemble and regulate timekeeping.
- Use timing machines, microscopes and ultrasonic cleaners to verify performance and ensure quality control before release.
- Carry out polishing, case and bracelet adjustments, gasket replacement and pressure testing where applicable.
- Maintain accurate service records, parts ledgers and warranty documentation in line with workshop procedures.
- Liaise with parts suppliers, external ateliers and brand service centres for specialist repairs and parts procurement.
- Adhere to health, safety and ISO-quality protocols in the workshop; keep tools and equipment calibrated and maintained.
- Provide clear technical reports to service advisors and contribute to continuous-improvement initiatives in workshop processes.
Qualifications
- WOSTEP, British Horological Institute (BHI) diploma or equivalent vocational qualification in horology preferred.
- Recognised training or apprenticeship in watch repair/servicing.
- Right to work in the UK and ability to pass any necessary background checks required for parts procurement.

Experience
Typically 2–5 years' practical experience in a professional watch service workshop or authorised service centre, with demonstrable competence on Swiss and high-end mechanical movements.
Education
Vocational horology qualification (WOSTEP, BHI or equivalent) preferred; apprenticeship or formal technical training acceptable.
