Watchfinder in Madrid seeks a Watchmaker Level 2 to service and restore luxury pre-owned watches in its in-house workshop.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform disassembly, cleaning, repair, reassembly and regulation of mechanical and quartz wristwatch movements to brand-standard tolerances.
  • Diagnose faults and produce clear service estimates and repair reports for workshop and client records.
  • Execute case and bracelet refurbishment, polishing and replacement of wear components while preserving original finishes.
  • Conduct water-resistance testing, pressure testing and final quality control using timing machines and diagnostic instruments.
  • Maintain accurate job cards, parts inventories and traceability for servicing history and warranty records.
  • Collaborate with customer service and technical teams to prioritise returns, advise on service timescales and ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

  • Formal watchmaking qualification (WOSTEP, British Horological Institute or equivalent) or completed apprenticeship in horology.
  • Level 2 competency demonstrated by a portfolio of serviced calibres or a minimum of 2–4 years practical experience in a professional watch workshop.
  • Proven ability to service common Swiss calibres and to follow OEM technical bulletins and service procedures.
  • High attention to micro-mechanical detail and manual dexterity suitable for repetitive fine-assembly tasks.
  • Fluent numeracy for timing, regulation and tolerance measurements; ability to interpret technical schematics.

Experience

Vocational qualification in watchmaking (WOSTEP, BHI or equivalent) or completed horological apprenticeship.
