Watchfinder seeks a Testing & Authentication Coordinator in Fort Worth to authenticate and quality-test pre-owned luxury watches.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform systematic authentication of pre-owned watches, verifying serial numbers, casebacks, hallmarks and brand-specific identifiers.
- Conduct technical testing including timing analysis on a timegrapher, water-resistance/pressure testing, and visual inspection with loupe/microscope.
- Document and maintain detailed QC records and authentication reports for each item; flag discrepancies and escalate suspected counterfeit or non-conforming pieces.
- Coordinate with servicing, refurbishment and inventory teams to ensure authenticated items are processed correctly and returned to stock with accurate condition notes.
- Maintain and update internal reference materials and provenance databases; contribute to continuous-improvement of authentication procedures and checklists.
- Manage testing equipment calibration and basic maintenance; liaise with external service providers for specialised repairs or advanced diagnostics when required.
Qualifications
- Formal watchmaking qualification preferred (e.g., WOSTEP, equivalent diploma) or demonstrable technical horology training.
- Proven familiarity with hallmarks, serial systems and authentication cues across major luxury watch brands.
- Strong attention to detail and an analytical approach to visual and mechanical diagnostics.
- Comfortable producing concise technical reports and handling provenance research.
- Ability to follow strict quality-control procedures and maintain chain-of-custody documentation.

Typically 2+ years of hands-on experience in watch servicing, authentication, or technical evaluation within retail, service centre or independent workshop environments; demonstrable experience using timing and pressure-testing equipment.
Education
