The Retail Business Specialist supports Van Cleef & Arpels’ West Region by maintaining Retail department budgets, monitoring expenses, coordinating with internal departments and partners, and improving budget processes and dashboards. The role is based in New York City, reports to the Regional AVP, and requires travel as needed; salary is negotiated based on skills and prior work experience.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the West Region by maintaining Retail department budgets and handling administrative tasks as needed.
- Track, process, and monitor departmental expenses with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Coordinate with departments within Van Cleef & Arpels and Richemont.
- Establish new processes and dashboards to enhance precision.
- Monitor actual spend against plan on an ongoing basis, including benchmark analysis and reconciliation with the Finance department.
- Support the Retail team in communicating and coordinating with vendors and external and internal partners.
- Create and monitor purchase orders, invoices, and payments; track and update budget tools for all projects.
- Ensure timely invoice payment and accurate tracking and reporting.
- Communicate budget status regularly to each department head.
- Track participants’ expenses and ensure correct cost functions are used; reconcile and reclassify in partnership with the Finance team.
- Undertake ad hoc projects as needed to support and streamline processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
- Accounting experience is preferred.
- Strong aptitude for working with figures and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Previous knowledge of SAP and comfort with BI reporting systems are a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a service-oriented attitude for effective interactions with team members.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Valid work authorization for employment in the USA.
