Van Cleef & Arpels is hiring a Methods Engineering Intern in Lyon — internship supporting industrialisation and process improvement in the ateliers.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Methods/Industrialisation team in defining and documenting production methods and work instructions for new and existing pieces.
- Participate in process mapping, time-and-motion studies and line balancing to optimise workflow within the ateliers.
- Contribute to the industrialisation of new models: tooling definition, assembly sequencing and production trials.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, routings and standard operating procedures for manufacturing teams.
- Collaborate with craftsmen, workshop supervisors and quality teams to identify and implement continuous-improvement actions (5S, SMED, Kaizen).
- Collect and analyse production data to generate actionable recommendations and basic KPI reports for the Methods team.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an engineering programme (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing engineering or equivalent).
- Strong analytical aptitude with demonstrated ability to read technical drawings and process flows.
- Practical interest in precision manufacturing and artisan jewellery processes.
- Effective communicator with the ability to work closely with workshop teams and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Organised, proactive and able to work independently while following strict quality standards.
Skills
Experience
Internship-level role: no extensive professional experience required. Prior academic projects or short internships in manufacturing, industrialisation or ateliers are advantageous.
Education
Currently enrolled in an engineering degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent technical programme.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Lyon, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France.
