Role & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule casting operations for precious-metal jewellery, ensuring alignment with production planning and atelier deadlines.
- Supervise the preparation and maintenance of moulds, investment materials and casting equipment to guarantee process reliability and part consistency.
- Oversee melting, pouring and finishing handoffs; monitor metallurgical parameters and casting quality to meet haute-jewerly tolerances.
- Implement and enforce health, safety and environmental controls specific to foundry activities, including handling of investment compounds and molten metal.
- Perform incoming and in-process quality control (visual, dimensional and metallurgical checks) and document non-conformities with corrective actions.
- Liaise with bench finishers, modelmakers, production planners and external suppliers/subcontractors to ensure seamless workflow and on-time deliveries.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise yield, reduce defects and refine foundry techniques while preserving artisanal standards.
- Maintain accurate production records, material traceability and regulatory compliance documentation for precious metals.
Qualifications
- Vocational diploma or technical qualification in metallurgy, materials science, jewelry-making or an equivalent apprenticeship qualification.
- Working knowledge of precious-metal casting processes (investment/lost-wax, centrifugal and vacuum casting) and basic metallurgy of gold, platinum and silver.
- Proven ability to read technical drawings and apply dimensional tolerances relevant to high-jewellery production.
- Familiarity with health & safety procedures relevant to foundry work and chemical handling.
- Strong organisational skills, rigor in documentation and the capacity to coordinate multiple production streams.

Typically 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a jewellery foundry, metal casting workshop or precision casting environment, ideally within a luxury or high-jewellery context.
Education
Diploma or vocational qualification in metallurgy, materials science, jewellery manufacturing, or completion of a recognized apprenticeship in jewellery/metalwork.
