Van Cleef & Arpels — Paris: Internship for an Exhibitions Assistant at the École des Arts Joailliers supporting curatorial and installation activities.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the curatorial and exhibitions team in the planning, installation and deinstallation of temporary and permanent displays at the École des Arts Joailliers.
  • Prepare condition reports, handle object packing and unpacking, and assist with crating and unpacking procedures according to conservation protocols.
  • Coordinate logistics for loans and incoming/outgoing shipments, including liaising with transport companies, registrars and external suppliers.
  • Draft and edit labels, didactic texts and catalogue entries; assist with photographic and documentation workflows for the collection.
  • Maintain accurate inventories and digital records of objects and exhibition assets; assist with database entry and file management.
  • Support public programmes and visits by preparing materials, setting up displays and assisting with guided activities when required.
  • Perform administrative tasks for the exhibitions team, including scheduling, supplier quotations and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a degree in art history, museum studies, curatorial studies, jewellery arts or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrable interest in high jewellery, material culture and the history of decorative arts.
  • Strong attention to detail and a rigorous approach to condition reporting and object documentation.
  • Ability to handle fragile and valuable objects with care and to follow conservation and safety procedures.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills; capacity to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
