Van Cleef & Arpels — Design Innovation Intern in Geneva: support concept development, prototyping and materials research for the maison.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Design Innovation team in concept development from sketch to physical mock‑up.
- Produce technical sketches, detailed drawings and visual material to communicate design intent.
- Fabricate prototypes and scale models using model‑making and prototyping techniques; collaborate with ateliers and external suppliers.
- Conduct material, gemstone and technique research to inform new design proposals and experimental projects.
- Document development steps, maintain organised sample and prototype archives and prepare presentation materials for internal reviews.
- Coordinate with production, CAD and quality teams to ensure feasibility and alignment between concept and execution.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a degree programme in jewellery design, product/industrial design, materials science or a related creative discipline.
- Portfolio demonstrating strong design thinking, sketching ability and prior coursework or projects in jewellery or small‑scale product design.
- Manual dexterity and demonstrable experience with model‑making, prototyping or workshop practices.
- Curiosity for materials, gemstones and traditional artisanal techniques, combined with an analytical approach to problem solving.
- Professional attitude, strong organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
Skills
Experience
Prior internships, academic projects or hands‑on experience in jewellery design, product design or small‑scale prototyping are strongly preferred. Experience working with ateliers or in a workshop environment is an advantage.
Education
Enrolled in or recent graduate of a recognised programme in jewellery design, product/industrial design, materials science, fine arts or a closely related discipline.

The successful candidate will be located in Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland.
