Role & Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust and operate precision machine tools (milling, turning, CNC) to produce components to jewellery‑grade tolerances.
  • Program or adapt CNC programs (G‑code) and perform first‑piece verification to validate machining parameters.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, tolerances and work instructions specific to haute‑joaillerie components.
  • Select, install and maintain cutting tools, fixtures and gauges; perform basic tool preparation and dressing.
  • Conduct in‑process and final quality control using micrometers, calipers and other metrology instruments; document non‑conformities.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and escalate mechanical or process issues to maintenance teams.
  • Collaborate with production, prototyping and quality departments to optimise cycle times and ensure consistency with artisanal finishing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma in precision machining, micro‑mechanics or equivalent (CAP, BEP, BAC Pro, BTS or similar).
  • Proven ability to read complex technical drawings and apply tight tolerances required for jewellery‑grade parts.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of CNC setup and adjustment procedures.
  • Commitment to strict quality standards, cleanliness and traceability in a high‑value manufacturing environment.

Experience

Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in precision machining or micro‑mechanics; experience in jewellery, watchmaking or other fine‑mechanics production environments is strongly preferred.

Education

CAP/BEP or equivalent vocational qualification in machining, micro‑mechanics or mechanical engineering; additional technical diplomas (Bac Pro, BTS) are advantageous.
