Role & Responsibilities
- Support bench jewellers and artisans in day-to-day atelier production: prepping components, filing, soldering and preliminary finishing.
- Assist with stone setting preparation and basic setting under supervision, ensuring proper alignment and security of gems.
- Execute hand-finishing and polishing tasks to Van Cleef & Arpels quality standards, including buffing, burnishing and surface inspection.
- Perform routine quality controls and visual checks; report defects and participate in corrective actions guided by senior craftsmen.
- Maintain workshop tools and workstations, follow jewellery workshop safety procedures and handle precious metals and stones with care.
- Document work progress and assist with assembly of prototypes, repairs and small series under the direction of the atelier leader.
- Learn technical drawings and production specifications; translate designers' sketches into technical tasks under mentorship.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a vocational jewellery/metalwork programme (e.g., CAP/BEP/BTM in jewellery, BTS or equivalent).
- Excellent manual dexterity, fine motor control and visual acuity for detailed handwork.
- Strong attention to detail, patience and the ability to maintain consistent finish quality over repetitive tasks.
- Professional discretion and respect for confidentiality when working with high-value materials and client pieces.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a small atelier team; punctuality and reliability.
