Universo SA, a member of the Swatch Group and a leader in Swiss-Made horology, seeks a precision micromechanics apprentice for a formal CFC (Federal Vocational Certificate) program in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The apprentice will learn to manufacture, machine, and assemble miniature components for microtechnology, watchmaking, precision mechanics, and medical applications, working under professional supervision with both conventional and CNC equipment while maintaining exacting tolerances.

Role & Responsibilities

• Master traditional and CNC machining techniques including turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and electrical discharge machining (EDM)
• Fabricate micro-components according to technical drawings and strict dimensional specifications
• Assemble mechanical sub-assemblies and handle delicate components using precision tools
• Perform quality control verification using measuring instruments such as micrometers, profile projectors, and comparators
• Interpret technical drawings and understand tolerancing specifications and engineering requirements
• Maintain equipment and workspace in accordance with high-precision manufacturing standards
