Universo SA, a member of the Swatch Group and a Swiss watchmaking reference for over a century, seeks an apprentice electroplating technician to join its La Chaux-de-Fonds facility. The apprentice will learn to treat and protect metal surfaces, synthetic materials, and other substrates using galvanic baths and chemical electroplating processes. This three-year CFC apprenticeship combines hands-on training with technical instruction in the specialist craft of electroplating for the watchmaking and precision components industries.
Role & Responsibilities
- Treat and protect surfaces of metal, synthetic, and other materials through electroplating baths and chemical electrolytes
- Manage continuous electrical currents during galvanic and electrochemical processes
- Monitor bath composition, temperature, and current parameters according to technical specifications
- Prepare materials and components for electroplating operations
- Follow safety and quality protocols in a specialized chemical treatment environment
- Document process parameters and maintain work records
- Collaborate with master craftspeople and supervisory staff during training
