Universo is seeking an Electrical Discharge Machinist for its erosion department in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The role covers wire, sinker and drilling EDM, machining programming and optimization, micromilling, die-part manufacture, machine maintenance and minor mechanical work.
Role & Responsibilities
- Operate wire EDM machines.
- Operate sinker EDM and EDM drilling machines.
- Program and optimize machining operations.
- Perform micromilling.
- Manufacture parts for cutting dies.
- Maintain machines.
- Carry out minor mechanical work.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of GF wire EDM machines (Cut1000, Cut2000).
- Knowledge of GF EDM drilling machines (DRILL E300).
- Knowledge of GF sinker EDM machines (FROM 20).
- Knowledge of SARIX micromilling machines.
- Knowledge of Gibbs programming; Opticam is an advantage.
- Knowledge of ESPRIT programming.
- Proven experience using fine wires.
- A strong micron-level precision mindset is essential.
- Organized, rigorous, and autonomous.
- Able to work collaboratively and cooperatively as part of a team.
