Tommy Hilfiger is seeking a part-time Retail Supervisor for its Portsmouth store on a fixed-term contract. The role supports store management, drives sales and service standards, oversees shop-floor operations and merchandising, and helps develop talent for key positions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Ensure the efficient operation of the shop floor to achieve the highest levels of customer service, sales and profit.
- Support the management team in overseeing personnel, product and merchandising functions, business processes and store results.
- Participate in weekly management and other staff meetings.
- Communicate all marketing and sales promotions clearly to staff.
- Drive shop-floor sales and exceed store targets by motivating the team and delivering an exemplary customer journey.
- Foster a positive store experience by treating customers and colleagues fairly and consistently.
- Support delivery of the business strategy and ensure the team receives consistent training in product knowledge and store maintenance.
- Meet company standards and goals for personal sales results, including sales versus budget, sales per hour and units per transaction.
- Perform manager-on-duty duties, oversee store opening and closing, and manage the sales floor.
- Keep staff focused on building quality relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ensure staff build a repeat customer base by providing every customer with outstanding, spirited service.
- Ensure execution of “door to floor” best practices and visual merchandising directives on the sales floor and in the back room, reviewing them regularly for consistency.
- Work with the management team to build a talent pool for key positions, including potential successors.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a supervisory or specialist role within a premium or luxury brand.
- Previous people-management experience, including the ability to resolve conflict and unproductive disagreements.
- Effective communication and relationship-building abilities.
- A collaborative approach and recognition of colleagues’ contributions and achievements.
- Confidence in giving feedback that promotes positive behavioural change.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change and work at pace.
- Energy, authenticity and a strong presence on the shop floor.
- A proactive, can-do approach and initiative in finding in-store solutions.
