Tommy Hilfiger is seeking a Retail Supervisor to lead shop-floor operations, customer service, sales performance and team development at its Trafford store in Manchester. This is a part-time, 32-hour-per-week fixed-term contract.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the efficient running of the shop floor to achieve the highest levels of customer service, sales and profit.
  • Support the management team in managing personnel, product and merchandising functions, business processes and store results.
  • Participate in weekly management meetings and other staff meetings.
  • Clearly communicate all marketing and sales promotions to staff.
  • Drive shop-floor sales and exceed store targets by motivating the team, while delivering an exemplary customer journey.
  • Foster a positive store experience by treating all customers and colleagues fairly and consistently.
  • Support delivery of the business strategy and ensure everyone receives consistent training in product knowledge and store maintenance.
  • Achieve company standards and goals for personal sales results, including sales versus budgets, sales per hour and units per transaction.
  • Perform manager-on-duty functions and manage store opening and closing procedures and the sales floor.
  • Focus staff on the importance of quality relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Hold staff accountable for building a repeat customer base by providing every customer with unparalleled, spirited service.
  • Ensure that “door to floor” best practices and visual merchandising directives for the sales floor and back room are implemented, and continually review them for consistency.
  • Work with the management team to build a talent pool for key positions, including potential successors.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in supervisory or specialist roles within a premium or luxury brand.
  • Previous people-management experience, including the ability to resolve conflict and unproductive disagreements.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships with ease.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to recognise and celebrate others’ contributions and achievements.
  • Confidence in giving feedback that promotes positive behavioural change.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and work at pace.
  • An energetic, authentic manner and a clear presence on the shop floor.
  • A proactive, can-do approach and initiative in finding in-store solutions.
