Tommy Hilfiger seeks an Assistant Buyer in New York, NY to support merchandising and buying operations with data analysis, inventory management, and vendor coordination.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Merchant team in achieving and exceeding departmental financial plans
- Prepare all necessary documents and resources for major milestone meetings, including Hindsight and Buy Review sessions
- Manage sample accuracy and maintain sample handoff protocols
- Execute data entry and compile reports for daily merchandising responsibilities, including building and maintaining assortment sheets, on-order recaps, and weekly/monthly/seasonal selling recaps
- Reconcile and update receipts and communicate necessary information to cross-functional teams in a timely manner
- Manage purchase order entry and maintenance for third-party products and maintain vendor communication
- Analyze business results in partnership with manager in preparation for weekly cross-functional team meetings, drawing actionable conclusions from data
- Conduct competitive market research including pricing analysis, style assessment, and key messaging evaluation
- Support the team in line build and assortment process
- Build relationships with cross-functional partners and contribute as a solution-oriented team member
Qualifications
- 1+ years of related experience in Merchandising, Buying, or Retail
- Bachelor's degree; Merchandising degree preferred
- Strong proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to learn new systems quickly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through capabilities
- Ability to lift or move at least 30 lbs for sample management and participate in store visits or floor sets

Experience
1+ years of related experience in Merchandising, Buying, or Retail environments, ideally supporting buying or merchandise planning functions.
Education
Bachelor's degree required; degree in Merchandising, Fashion, or related field strongly preferred.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 60,800 to USD 87,800 per annum.
