The Modellista Abbigliamento Donna will translate design directives into technically precise patterns, ensuring fit, quality, and manufacturing feasibility at the Tods Group, an excellence of Italian craftsmanship. The role involves continuous collaboration with the Design Office and Production departments, managing garments from prototype development through production implementation. This position requires expertise in both manual and digital pattern-making, with proficiency in CAD systems and a comprehensive understanding of textiles, materials, and tailoring techniques.
Role & Responsibilities
- Analyze design sketches and technical documentation to interpret and translate styling intent into concrete patterns
- Manage CAD-based pattern development and oversee prototype testing, implementing pattern modifications to enhance garment fit and construction
- Participate actively in revision and quality-control phases, contributing to product industrialization while liaising with external patternmakers and contractors
- Verify miniatures and lay-plan accuracy, and prepare technical production specifications and grading sheets
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of structured experience in manual and digital pattern-making
- Proficient with CAD systems, preferably Lectra
- Demonstrated ability to interpret design sketches and develop technical patterns
- Comprehensive knowledge of textiles, materials, and tailoring techniques
