Role & Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety protocols and report any incidents or safety issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Interpret blueprints and fabricate items according to production artwork, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines.
  • Utilize various torch sizes and types for soldering and annealing tasks, maintaining a focus on detail and quality assurance.
  • Apply appropriate sequences of silver solder and perform solder cleanup and over-run prevention.
  • Fit and assemble components, understanding the annealing temperatures of various metals.
  • Hand form components using hydraulic presses, wooden dies, and other tools, and hallmark items by hand.
  • Minimize porosity in solder seams and castings using laser welds and appropriate tools.
  • Possess knowledge of hand forging tools and utilize them during complex fabrication processes.
  • Set up and operate power equipment essential for fabrication and finishing processes.
  • Document work instructions and assist in writing SOPs for new and existing products.
  • Participate in R&D, manufacturing reviews, and product signoffs for new products.
  • Collaborate with teams on process improvements and repair quoting for historic items.
  • Maintain production schedules and assist in mentoring apprentices and onboarding new silversmiths.
  • Demonstrate competencies in Hollowware for tours and filming as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in silversmithing or a related field.

Skills

Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints. Expertise in various soldering techniques and metalworking processes. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to operate a range of power equipment and hand tools. Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in silversmithing or a related discipline is required.
